Shelter

The word shelter can refer to many things, ranging from homes to tents, from canopies to cars. A tent, also called a canopy, for instance is designed to provide shade and protection from the sun or rain. Most canopies come complete with side walls and are commonly used at fair, carnivals and for added protection from the elements when being outside are necessary.

Tents, as do most things come in different styles and are made for all sorts of occasions. Pop up canopy tents are designed with a small frame using a collapsible aluminum frame that does not need to be staked. Pole tents, as their name described is a set of four poles that support a fabric roof and defines the shape. While marquees are most often used as an entrance or covered walkway.

Canopies are large enough that they can be divided into sections, making it easy to have separate events going on, while keeping them separate.

Other shelters include homes, while self explanatory, there are homes that are more unique and not seen often. Other than the standard shelter, some build homes is unique shapes, or construct the home completely with solar panels to save on energy and provide natural sunlight.

In some countries a hut is the shelter that is most seen. Huts are most often made from local materials and use techniques that are common to them and allow for quick and inexpensive construction.

For those who use public transportation a bus stop is a welcome shelter, especially in ad weather. These stops are often marked with a specific route or can be general stops that list the schedule of various buses that will stop there.


One of the most talked about shelters is the animal shelter. Stray animals and animals that can no longer be cared for by their owners are brought to the shelter to be cared for until they can be adopted by other individuals.
While many would refer to a shelter as building, they can also be an umbrella used with a picnic table to shade the table from the sun, or a beach umbrella protecting the beach goers from the suns rays.

For those who enjoy camping, a shelter can be a motor home or RV. Some will have all the comforts of home with kitchens and showers, while some will provide only the basics for a true camping experience.

Whatever the occasion or event there is a shelter than can accommodate the most basic needs, whether elegant or primal, all are available in some form.
